Reception of children born in Valga municipality

Valga Municipality presents a silver ribbon with a coat of arms to all residents born on the territory of the municipality. The spoon will be handed over at a reception organised by the Mayor of the municipality. Receptions are held twice a year at the Valga Cultural Centre and children aged around 2-7 months are invited. As a rule, the silver ribbon is handed over by the mayor of Valga municipality. Families who are unable to attend the reception will receive a silver medal from the Municipal Office (tel. 766 9900) within six months of the date of the reception. The gift is given to the child whose place of residence is entered in the Estonian National Population Register after the child's birth in the municipality of Valga.

Spoon events take place twice a year. Invitations are sent to parents at the address in the population register two weeks before the event.

Father of the year in Valga municipality

Valga annual ring award

The Valga Jahraring award is given to individuals or collectives who have distinguished themselves during the year through their activities, set an example for others or improved the well-being of the people of the municipality. Non-profit organisations, institutions and associations can also be nominated. The municipality invites nominations by 20 January each year.

Reception for Valga municipality's elderly jubilees

The Valga Municipality presents all elderly people living in the municipality with a souvenir with the municipality's symbols. The token will be handed over at a reception organised for this purpose by the Mayor of the municipality at the Valga Culture and Leisure Centre.

Receptions take place four times a year at the Valga Culture and Leisure Centre, inviting elderly celebrating their 70th, 75th, 80th, 85th, 90th, 95th ... birthday.

The medal is usually presented by the mayor of Valga municipality. Invitations to the reception are extended to citizens of Valga municipality whose place of residence is entered in the Estonian Population Register.
