Mental health service is the psychological and psychosocial support (hereafter referred to as the mental health service) provided to local authority residents.
Target audience are residents of Valga municipality (hereinafter referred to as the client) in need of psychological or psychosocial support.
Psychological help is a professional activity applied by a psychologist to a person or group of people with the aim of relieving distress and improving mental health and well-being.
Psychologist is a person with a higher education degree (preferably a Master's degree) or at least an equivalent qualification who provides psychological support to people.
Psychosocial support are activities to improve people's psychosocial well-being, provided by suitably qualified persons, within the limits of their competence. These activities may include, for example:
- play therapy;
- family therapy;
- dialectical behavioural therapy;
- experience counselling;
- other activities that improve the psychosocial well-being of people, which are provided by persons who have been appropriately trained for this purpose within the limits of their competence and whose funding is deemed justified by Valga Municipality (hereinafter referred to as the municipality).
Partners the aim of the work is to improve the provision of mental health services at the local level, in cooperation with the social work service of the municipality, in order to support the psychosocial well-being and mental health of the residents of Valga municipality.
The cooperation partner of the municipality can be a legal entity or a self-employed person who is willing to provide mental health services and who meets the conditions for qualification of the municipality's mental health service providers (see Cooperation Principles, point 2 „Requirements for the service provider and the specialist directly providing the service“) and has submitted a digitally signed application form (see Annex 1) together with copies of CV and educational documents by e-mail to the following address. valga@valga.ee by 18 December 2025 at the latest.
The municipality decides on the qualification of service providers and the inclusion on the list of partners, which is notified to the service providers by e-mail.
