On Father's Day, 9 November, a festive gathering was held at the Lüllemäe Cultural Centre, where the title of Father of the Year of Valga Municipality was awarded. The event featured a musical performance by Linalakk. This year's winner was Enno Hansson - a caring and dedicated father of four who, through his actions, faith and sincerity, makes a difference to his family, community and society as a whole.
Enno is a 47-year-old father of four special children. His warm care and support has helped his children grow up to be confident and active people. According to the children, a good father guides his family not only on a practical level, but also on a spiritual level - that's their dad. Enno is an ordained deacon in the Valga congregation of the Estonian Christian Pentecostal Church, who shares the Lord's Prayer from the pulpit once a quarter and, as a housekeeper, makes sure that everything works in the congregation's home - the lights are on, the water is running and the roof doesn't leak. His passion is volleyball - a unifying force in the lives of Enno and his children. The children have also taken part in volleyball training sessions, encouraged by their father, and he is their biggest supporter at competitions, encouraging his children and the whole team. Enno Hansson is a father who, through his actions, faith and sincerity, makes a difference to his family, community and society as a whole. He is proof that small good deeds can have a big impact.
Monika Rogenbaum, mayor of Valga municipality, said that Father's Day is a day to pay tribute to fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers and father figures. „On Father's Day we think more than usual about the importance of family ties and the role of the father in the family. The moments spent together, the words of wisdom, the father's manner, his behaviour, his values and his principles are what accompany us in our lives and are passed on to our children and grandchildren. The tradition of the Year of the Father of Valga Municipality is alive and well. The nominees are people from different walks of life, united by a commitment to their family and community. The words and deeds of the fathers highlighted are a great example for us all,“ emphasised the Mayor.
