On 16 January 2026, volunteers from Valga municipality gathered in the winter garden of the Lilli restaurant to look back on the past year and express their gratitude to those whose contribution to the safety and well-being of the community has been particularly significant.
The Valga Municipality's certificate of appreciation was awarded to Siim Vahi, Anne Kern and Aivar Püvi (auxiliary policemen), Mehis Visnapuu and Tarmo Tuulas (Karula volunteer rescuers), Heldur Tellmann (Defence League member and auxiliary policeman), Andrus Poola (Defence League member, auxiliary policeman and volunteer at the Valga War Museum), Evelin Tamm and Heili Mets (women's civil defence), Tiina Lall and Marianna Tops (Red Cross volunteers), Esta Mets and Konstantin Jevtjukov (volunteers at the Valga War Museum), and Hannes Hendrikson and Rene Lipping, who have been active leaders of auxiliary policing in Valga municipality.
Valga municipality is grateful to all volunteers whose willingness to contribute makes our living environment safer and more cohesive.
