The municipalities of Valga and Valka went on a joint study trip to historic Mulgaria

At the end of September, representatives of Valga and Valka municipalities went on an exciting study trip to Mulgimaa. The aim was to learn about the promotion of life and preservation of the heritage of historical Mulgaria today, when the region is located in different municipalities and counties, and to gather good ideas for the development of the municipalities of Valga and Valka.

During the two days visited:

  • Mulgi Experience Centre and Mulgi Cultural Institute;
  • Estonian Traditional Music Centre;
  • Mulgi Municipality;
  • Mulgi Brewery;
  • Pajumäe farm.

The joint study trip of Valga-Valka municipalities has become a tradition and a welcome event. By agreement, the visits alternate between Estonia and Latvia. In addition to interesting places and new knowledge, the study trip provides a freer opportunity for communication between Estonian and Latvian colleagues, who are usually met in an otherwise work-related situation.

Many thanks to Piret Taluri, the leading specialist of foreign projects of Valga Municipality for organising this year's study trip!

Thank you to all the hosts and participants - the study trip provided valuable experience and strengthened cooperation between the two municipalities!
