As of today, Terje Taits, a social pedagogue, is working in Valga Municipality. Terje has many years of experience in social work and youth work and has a higher education. In recent years, she has been providing care and teaching for children in a children's home.
Terje says she is delighted to be back at work as a social worker. “Working with children and young people also gives me the opportunity to learn, there is always something to learn from young people,” says Terje. “We all share the common goal of giving every child a decent education. To achieve this, we need to create the right conditions and access to support measures. Every child must receive an education appropriate to his or her abilities. It is important to work closely with teachers and support networks, to notice every child. Children must be trusted, because a trusting child dares to experiment, to question and to make mistakes. This is how social skills develop and coping skills grow,” says the new social pedagogue, explaining her principles.
