Valga municipality implements project "Improving the quality and accessibility of social services in Valga municipality”
By the decision of the State Support Services Centre of 21 October 2025 No 11.3-1/25/5001, the application of Valga Municipality for the implementation of the project „Improving the quality and accessibility of social services in Valga municipality“ has been approved. The eligibility period of the project is from 01 November 2025 to 31 October 2027, which is financed on the basis of the Decree of the Minister of Social Protection No 74 of 21.12.2023 „Improving the availability and quality of social services at local level“. The main objective of the project is to improve the quality, accessibility and resource efficiency of social services supporting home-living and services to alleviate care burden in Valga municipality.
The total cost of the project is EUR 383 783,60, with a grant of EUR 345 405,24 and co-financing by the municipality of EUR 38 378,36.
The project has been co-financed by the European Union, from the European Union Cohesion and Internal Security policy funds for the period 2021-2027.
Brief description
Valga municipality modernises home services. We are moving from a fragmented and mainly weekday-centred service to a well-planned, holistically managed service, available on all days of the week. For the community, this means the opportunity to stay at home longer and with more dignity. We will improve the quality of the service through new and modern approaches, systematic staff training and mentoring.
Purpose
The aim of the project is to improve the availability of quality social services to support people to live at home or to alleviate the burden of care, and to prevent the worsening of care or support needs at local level.
Through the project, we will improve the quality, accessibility and resource-efficiency of services for older people.
Hit
As a result of the project, the residents of Valga municipality will have access to higher quality services that will support the elderly to be more independent and to cope at home. As a result of the project, the management of services will become more efficient, resource-saving, staff qualifications will improve and labour mobility will be reduced.
