Valga municipality pays operating grants to non-profit organisations providing social services or representing target groups in the social field. The eligible activity or right of representation must be one of the statutory activities of the non-profit organisation.
An operating grant is foreseen for:
- the part of the management and staff costs of the buildings occupied by the non-profit-making organisation which is not financed from other sources;
- organise events and campaigns;
- other expenditure accepted by the social committee.
Applications for operating grants must be submitted to the municipality by 1 December, together with the budget and justification of the need for the grant. The grant will be awarded for the following financial year. The decision is taken by the municipality, on a proposal from the Social Affairs Committee, at the latest within one month of the adoption of the municipal budget.
