On the basis of § 12 (1) of the Traffic Act, Valga Municipality Government Order No. 357 of 22 September 2022, ”Valga Municipality Maintenance Service Statute", clause 2.2.2.2.2, and taking into account the deterioration of the road conditions on the local roads of Valga Municipality in the spring period, Valga Municipality Government issued an order:
- To introduce a load limit of 7 tonnes on local roads and private roads designated for public use in Valga municipality from 5 March 2026 to prevent damage to roads. The load limit applies to roads and streets on which a load limiting sign has been installed.
- The load limit does not apply to operational vehicles, public transport vehicles and vehicles carrying out organised waste collection.
- The load shedding restriction will apply until 15 April 2026.
- Motor vehicles heavier than 7 tonnes may be driven on the local roads of Valga municipality on the basis of a special permit issued by the Valga municipality maintenance service.
