Project No: RE.4.09.23-0283
Name of the project: Organisation of the collection of waste ethylene oxide in Valga municipality
Support measure: Environmental Programme Circular Economy E-waste collection circles
Application round: Circular economy programme
Implementing unit: SA Environmental Investment Centre
Project summary: The aim is to collect around 100 tonnes of eternite and transfer it to a compliant collection point.
The improper management of asbestos waste is hazardous to health and the environment, so it is particularly important that this waste is managed properly. As a result of the project, the amount of waste ash in Valga municipality will be reduced and the waste ash will be properly managed.
Separate collection of these is important to avoid them being used as road fill or dumped in forests. The aim of organising ethylene waste collection circles is to raise public awareness, to promote separate collection of waste, thereby preventing and reducing environmental pollution caused by unusable ethylene.
