Master plan

General plans in force in Valga municipality

Pursuant to § 14(4) of the Act on the Administrative Division of the Territory of Estonia.⁴ until the adoption of the general plan of the local government unit formed as a result of the change in the territorial organisation of the administration, the general plans of the merged local government units shall remain in force in the territories where they were adopted before the merger. Pending the drawing up of the general plan of Valga municipality, the general plans of the city of Valga and the municipalities of Taheva, Karula, Tõlliste and Õru shall be valid on the territory of the municipality.

Õru parish general plan

Taheva Municipality has been the organiser of the preparation of the general plan for Taheva Municipality. The general plan has been prepared in cooperation with the Valgamaa Development Agency Foundation. The general plan was prepared by the planner Henri Paves. The general plan of Taheva municipality was initiated and adopted by Taheva municipality council. The Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Taheva Municipality Master Plan was carried out by a group of experts led by Arvo Järvet.

Valga city master plan

The Valga City Council established the general plan of the city of Valga by the Decree No 6 of 25.05.2007. The strategic environmental impact assessment report of the general plan was prepared together with the plan and approved by the Minister of Environment on 2 May.

The general plan of the city of Valga is in force since 1 June 2007.

The organiser of the preparation of the general plan of the city of Valga and the strategic environmental assessment report accompanying its implementation is Valga City Government, the preparer is Tinter Projekt OÜ (project manager Peep Moorast, e-mail: p.moorast@tinterprojekt.ee, Lead Expert for Strategic Environmental Assessment Arvo Järvet, e-mail: ajarvet@ut.ee) and is initiated and established by the Valga City Council.
