On 16 December, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research, led by Minister of Education and Research Kristina Kallas, visited Valga municipality to meet with municipality leaders and discuss the current situation, bottlenecks and development opportunities in the field of education in Valga municipality.
The meeting addressed a number of important issues for Valga municipality concerning the functioning and future of the education sector. During the discussions, the main challenges were mapped out and the first possible directions for further cooperation were agreed. Cooperation will continue intensively at the beginning of the new year.
After the meeting, the representatives of the Ministry and the heads of the municipalities went to Valga Elementary School, where they had lunch with the schoolchildren. Afterwards, there was an open discussion with the teachers of the Valga Basic School, where the teachers had the opportunity to raise issues that were important and close to their hearts and to exchange ideas with the representatives of the Ministry.
At the end of the visit, the trustees of Valga Elementary School and Valga Priimetsa School had one-on-one discussions with representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research, focusing on issues concerning the daily work of the schools.
“Communication is the basis of any cooperation. Today was the start of our cooperation and our plans are ambitious!” summarised the meeting.
Valga municipality thanks the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research for the visit and the meaningful discussion. A good human climate has been achieved, problems have been mapped out and we will start working together.
