You will be committed to improving the quality and modernising the content of education in Valga.
On the one hand, you stand up for dreams, so that every child has the chance to realise their full potential. On the other hand, you are working for realistic benchmarks (for example, that all 9th-graders pass the maths exam with at least a pass mark, or that all Valga kindergarten graduates speak Estonian at least as a second language).
The duties of an Education Manager include:
- advising the management of kindergartens and general education schools on education and coordinating sectoral information;
- Mapping the current state of inclusive education in Valga municipality, updating the education strategy and coordinating its implementation;
- launching and leading cooperation between teachers' subject sections in Valga municipality schools;
- Mapping and implementation of cooperation and development opportunities for the management of kindergartens and schools in Valga municipality;
- management of databases in the field (ARNO, EHIS, Education Eye, etc.);
- developing and streamlining basic documents in the field of education (e.g. the teachers' pay code);
- processing sectoral applications, solving problems and amplifying positive action.
Expectations of the candidate:
- Master's degree (preferably in pedagogy, educational innovation or other social or educational field);
- preferably a teaching qualification and/or experience as a teacher;
- experience as an education manager would be an advantage;
- good communication and teamwork skills;
- knowledge of education;
- initiative and the ability to plan work processes;
- conscientiousness and punctuality;
- You must have a category B driving licence;
- Estonian language skills at least C1 level;
- very good stress tolerance
