Valga Municipality sought a partner for the capture and keeping of stray and ownerless animals between 8 December 2025 and 31 December 2026 through a public procurement procedure.The procurement period was based on the expiry date of the current contract, 7 December 2025, and the authorisation granted by the council to find a service provider until 31 December 2026.
One tender was submitted, which was declared successful by the Public Procurement Committee. The current service provider did not submit a bid. As of 8 December, the municipality's stray animal services will be provided by the non-profit organisation Aita Mind Koju. The service will continue to be provided on the municipality-owned property at 11a Laatsi Street, Valga. The organisation of the service will remain the same.
