Valga Municipality announces that between 17 November and 1 December 2025, social non-profit organisations have the opportunity to apply for an operating grant for 2026. This year, applications will only be accepted via the SPOKU environment.
Operating grants are paid to non-profit-making organisations providing social services or representing target groups in the social field, whose statutory activities relate to the social field.
Support is foreseen for:
- to cover the management and staffing costs of the buildings occupied by the non-profit-making organisation (in part, if not financed from other sources);
- organising social events and campaigns;
- other expenditure accepted by the social committee.
Applications must be submitted by 1 December 2025 at the latest, together with the budget and justification of the need for support.
The operating grant will be awarded for the following financial year. The decision to grant the subsidy will be taken by the municipality on a proposal from the Social Affairs Committee, at the latest one month after the adoption of the municipal budget.
The conditions for applying for an operating grant are set out in the Valga Municipality Council Regulation No 89 of 25 October 2019 „Procedure for granting social welfare assistanceˮ". According to it, the applicant must have its registered office in Valga municipality, provide services to the municipality's residents or represent the interests of the municipality's socially vulnerable target groups. The association must have submitted its annual accounts on time, must not be in arrears with national taxes and interest and must not have a notice of cancellation in the commercial register.
