Valga Municipality supports community projects

Valga Municipality awarded grants for community development projects

At its meeting on 18 September, the municipality decided to fund eight community development projects submitted by the deadline of 21 August for a total amount of €5,979.87.

For example, the Friends of the Valga Museum Association received a grant for the project „Marking the Neuland Oak“, which celebrates the 130th anniversary of Alfred Neuland's birth. As part of the project, a commemorative plaque will be unveiled at the oak tree planted by Neuland at Pärna pst 20, Valga and a commemorative evening will be organised at the Valga Museum.

Support was also given to LC Valga Säde MTÜ, which for the third year in a row is organising a children's mental health conference in November. This year's theme is “The thread of experience: wisdom that carries through life”. The event will bring together parents, teachers, youth and,

health and social care professionals from all over Estonia to share knowledge and practical skills on how to better support the emotional development of children and young people. A symbolic hook as a tool will be given to the audience.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time and is involved in community development!

The next deadline for community development grant applications is 20 November. Projects must be submitted via the SPOKU application tool, which can be found on the Valga municipality website valga.ee.
