Valga Municipality is looking for a dedicated and caring person to join its team. a child protection specialist,<\/strong> to work together to support the well-being of the children of Valga municipality and help families to better cope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your role is..<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

...to be an early warning and preventer, a champion of children's interests and their voice, a supporter of families and a creator and coordinator of cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your main duties will be to:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • counselling and support for children and families;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • case-based work in assessing and intervening in children's needs;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • coordinating support and social services where necessary;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • submitting submissions to the court and preparing other necessary documents, representation in court.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    We expect you to:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • a university degree in social work, social policy, education or psychology (or equivalent qualification);\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • willingness to obtain a qualification as a social worker specialising in child protection within two years of starting work;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • knowledge of social and child protection legislation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • proficiency in Estonian;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Russian language skills at communication level;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • good listening, communication and self-expression skills;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • commitment, empathy, conscientiousness and correctness;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • cooperation and motivation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Category B driving licence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      • previous experience in child protection or social work;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • ability to use computer programmes, including STAR and Amphora.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
