Valga Municipality is looking for a dedicated and caring child protection specialist to join its team, whose task is to protect children's rights and ensure their well-being in cooperation with families and other specialists. The role of the specialist is to identify and prevent problems related to children and provide support in difficult situations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Main tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>counselling and support for children and families;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>case-based work in assessing and intervening in children's needs;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>coordinating support and social services where necessary;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>submitting submissions to the court and preparing other necessary documents, representation in court;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>cooperation with representatives of the education, social, health and justice systems.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expectations of the candidate:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>Higher education in social work, social policy, education or psychology (or equivalent qualification);\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>willingness to obtain a qualification as a social worker specialising in child protection within two years of starting work;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>knowledge of social and child protection legislation;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>proficiency in Estonian;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>Russian language skills at communication level;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>good listening, communication and self-expression skills;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>commitment, empathy, conscientiousness and correctness;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>cooperation and motivation;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>Category B driving licence.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advantage is:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>previous experience in child protection or social work;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>ability to use computer programmes, including STAR and Amphora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
