NGOs and associations active in the field of culture can apply for support to carry out projects and for operating grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-profit organisations and associations can apply for the support if they have their registered office in Valga municipality according to the Commercial Register and have submitted their annual reports and reports on the use of previous grants in due time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conditions and procedures for support for cultural activities and community development<\/a> <\/path><\/svg><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operating grants for non-profit organisations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Operating grants are awarded to non-profit-making associations for the development and activation of their activities, provided that the association has been active for at least six months according to the business register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The basis for calculating the operating grants and the rates are set by the municipality on the basis of the municipality's budget and the proposal of the committee for the award of cultural grants. The deadline for submitting applications for the current year is 31 January. Applications can be submitted from 1 January. The deadline for submitting the report on the previous year's grants is 15 January. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications must be submitted to Valga Municipality via the application submission system. SPOKU.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You can apply for project support for cultural activities and community development. The application deadlines are 20 February, 20 May, 21 August and 20 November. If the deadline falls on a weekend or public holiday, the deadline is the working day following the deadline. Applications can start one month before the deadline. The beneficiary of a project grant must submit to the municipality a report on the use made of the grant, in the form provided, no later than 1 month after the end of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project grant application must be co-financed by at least 10% of the total project amount, which may be in kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the organisation of cultural activities, support is provided for the following activities and associated costs.<\/strong>:

<\/strong>  <\/a>1) the organisation and implementation of sustainable and traditional cultural events that are important for the municipality;
  <\/a>2) the celebration of holidays and the preservation of folk cultural traditions;
  <\/a>3) organising a cultural programme of public events;
  <\/a>4) organising exhibitions, concerts, festivals and workshops on traditional culture in the municipality;
  <\/a>5) the aspirations for self-improvement of the municipality's renowned and recognised artists;
  <\/a>6) participation of cultural collectives of the municipality in international and national competitions, contests and festivals;
  <\/a>7) the organisation of festive anniversaries of cultural collectives;
  <\/a>8) Cultural cooperation between the non-profit associations of Valga municipality;
  <\/a>9) the purchase and manufacture of folk costumes and performance costumes for collectives;
  <\/a>10) the production of non-periodical publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following projects are not supported by the organisation of cultural activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. charity projects (e.g. paying fees to performers at charity concerts, making products);<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. profit-making projects;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. construction and renovation work and furnishing of premises;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. the acquisition of property, fixtures and fittings;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. producing publications on the activities of a narrow range of people and targeted at a small interest group;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. catering costs, except in exceptional cases;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. excursions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. trading at fairs and outdoor events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. social, health and education projects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Support for own and co-financing contributions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Throughout the year, a non-profit organisation may submit a free-form application to the municipality for the coverage of its own and\/or co-financing of projects, except for projects supported by the municipality. The decision to grant a subsidy is taken by the municipality, taking into account the budgetary possibilities of the municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
