Child in need and at risk of harm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A child in need is a child whose well-being is at risk or is suspected of being abused, neglected or otherwise in a situation that violates the rights of the child, and a child whose behaviour endangers his or her own well-being or that of others. According to\u00a0\u00a7 27(1) and (2) of the Child Protection Act.<\/a>\u00a0there is a duty to report a child in need to any person who has information about a child in need. A child in need must be reported without delay to the local authority or to the child helpline.\u00a0116 111<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have a dependent child, report it directly to your local child protection officer as soon as possible:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
