There are several NGOs and societies in different areas of Valga municipality. In order to ensure that these NGOs are viable and able to engage in community development, Valga Municipality supports them financially. Support can be applied for in the form of project and operating grants. You can also apply for grants to cover the cost of larger projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The role of the Community Committee is to promote and coordinate the village and settlement movement and cooperation between communities, to identify the problems of villages and settlements and propose solutions, to identify opportunities for the development of villages and settlements and participate in the relevant development processes, to develop the basis for the election of village mayors and the organisation of their work, to develop regions, cantons, settlements and villages according to their specific characteristics, to cooperate on an ongoing basis with non-profit organisations and community leaders acting in the public interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commission evaluates applications for community development projects and reviews applications for operating grants from non-profit community development organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
